The Electrolux 375 central vacuum features a dual stage genuine Ametek-Lamb tangential by-pass suction motor rated at 600 max airwatts with 140CFM and 125 inches of lift. The PU375 is designed for cleaning residential homes up to a maximum size of eight thousand square feet in size. The Limited Edition PU375 provides impressive cleaning power in a single motor 120 volt two-stage fan suction unit with exceptional low noise performance. Electrolux Home Care Products is an industry leader in central cleaning, manufacturing many popular brands including BEAM, Honeywell, Eureka, Electrolux, SmartVac and others. The 375 series central vacuum power unit is the most popular model thanks to it's high performance motor, low operating noise and outstanding reliability. Electrolux PU375 Specifications & Features
The black color PU375’s are manufactured by Electrolux for many other companies to market as their own brand in a practice called "private labeling" . Private label units are built the same as other Electrolux central vacuums, usually with a different color paint. These PU375’s were never stickered with the private label brand name but do include all of the original components and are available in a very limited quantity from Vacdepot. EHCP (Electrolux Home Care Products) builds several versions of the 375 model for others and it’s own brands (Honeywell H703, BEAM 375) . All 375 series power units include the same basic building blocks; Ametek 119992-00 5.7†dual stage suction motor, ECS 120V control module, 12†diameter tall steel suction body, lightweight ABS collection bin, ATLIS (adaptable twist lock intake system) tube connector and Quiet-Pac low noise motor compartment.
The 375 series power unit is rated by the manufacturer for cleaning spaces up to 8,000 square feet. Most applications that employ the 375 power unit successfully will be sized from 2,000 up to 5,000 square feet in a single story (slightly more for multi-level), have 3 - 12 hose inlets and use up to 175 feet of tubing for the longest run. You can calculate the longest run of your system design by measuring the distance in tubing from the farthest inlet to vacuums systems exhaust tip. Longest run is not the "total amount of tube" used for the vacuum system, only the farthest inlet (some vacuum tube systems may have 300 feet of tubing but only use 75 feet for the longest run). The PU375 power unit has a wide range of coverage and offers a comfortable margin of performance for 99% of all US residences. Homes under five thousand square feet with 12 or fewer inlets need not calculate longest run when using the PU375.
Tapered fans can bring in a larger volume of air per revolution than standard flat fan stages with similar resistance. The 375’s AirWatt series motor produces a maximum 600 airwatts of cleaning performance. The new AirWatt series motors are 50% more powerful than dual stage motors used in EHCP central vacuums used just 8 years ago. The 119992 suction motor has dual 5.7†fan stages and can produce a maximum 140 CFM of airflow and 125 inches of static lift. Ametek-Lamb suction motors are the gold standard in our industry offering superior quality of components, design and longevity.
The separate cooling fan always supplies airflow to the motors working components, and this cooling air is of a lower temperature than worked air which has been heated by compression. The result is overall lower motor temperatures, better performance and part of a longer life. The 375's suction motor also uses dual ball bearings on the motors armature, this also provides longer life. The Ametek motor also features owner replaceable carbon motor brushes which can further extend the motor life up to 50% with replacement. Service work on the PU375 is simple for most DIY's, and the ability to replace carbon brushes yourself is a great option not easily available in all central vacuum systems. Guaranteed for 5 years, you can expect the suction motor to last for much more thanks to excellent build quality and ECS protection systems.
The ECS also controls the low-voltage signal system that activates the power unit from the in-wall hose inlets. The low-volt control system is universal and works with all central vacuum wall inlets. Wires are connected with easy speaker style connection that does not require special wire terminals or connectors. An external override power switch is positioned at the top of the vacuum canister which allows you to switch on the suction motor for use with the tank mounted utility inlet.
Finally a separate cover made from durable ABS tops the vacuum system giving it a rounded shape and further suppressing motor intake noise with built in airflow baffles. The baffles work to change the direction of cool airflow intake which breaks up the noise working much like an automotive muffler. With the motor compartment noise significantly reduced Electrolux adds an exhaust muffler to diffuse the noise of exiting worked air from the vacuum.
The final low noise component of the PU375 does not conceal airflow sounds, but suppresses unwanted noise from vibration and vibration transmission. The suction motor is isolated from the canister body with a rubberized fan gasket on the bottom and foam compression ring on the top. The suction motor is compressed between the two and "floats" with no direct linkage between the suction motor and the canister body. Most vacuum systems use bolts or other connectors to attach the motor directly to the vacuum body which easily transmits motor vibrations. The isolated motor can not transmit it's full vibration noise into the metal vacuum body, greatly reducing humming and rattle noises common in standard central vacuums. The Electrolux low noise Quiet-Pac® sound suppression system in one of the most comprehensive in the industry and the result is one of the lowest noise emission central vacuums in production.
If you need to move the tube intake connection from one side to the other you simply twist the connectors which unscrews from the vacuum body. Twist the block-off plate from the other side and swap the two. The adjustable intake makes installation easier and allows you to match an old system if you are using the PU375 to replace or upgrade an existing unit. The third intake is a manual utility port on the front of the vacuum. The utility port allows you to connect a low-volt or universal central vacuum hose directly to the vacuum for cleaning in the same area as the vacuum.
Filtration and collection on the PU375 power unit is also user configurable. The power unit comes standard as a permanent filter bagless collection system. Dirt laden air is brought into the vacuum where a permanent filter separates the dirt from air, sending filtered air out of the vacuum and dropping the collected dirt into the collection bin on the bottom of the vacuum. The LE375 uses Electrolux's exclusive Triumph© HEPA media permanent filter. The filter is self maintaining, never needs replacement - lasting the life of the machine.
The Triumph© HEPA filter media retains 99% of sub-micron sized particles which not only protects the suction motor but also allows venting of the power unit inside the garage or basement without the worry of fine dust escaping from the unit. Maintenance of the system involves unlatching the collection bin and dumping out the debris into a garbage bag. A fill level window on the collection bin allows you to see how much debris is inside the vacuum without taking off the bucket.
A second collection system is available for the PU375 with the paper bag conversion system. The paper bag converter allows the use of large sealed disposable bags in the vacuum to simplify collection bin maintenance. Disposable vacuum bags with a hygienic sealing collar fit over the optional paper bag intake converter forcing all debris into the disposable bag. When the bag is full you easily disconnect it, toss it and install a new bag for quick and clean maintenance of your central vacuum.
The PU375 Limited edition central vacuum power unit provides the performance power, convenience of use and field proven reliability you expect of branded central vacuum power units that sell for twice as much. The unbranded PU375 skips the sticker and saves you hundreds of dollars over a nearly identical power unit in a different color sold at the local vacuum store. The PU375 is an excellent vacuum to add in your new construction project and one of the most popular designs used in replacement of old, broken or under performing central vacuum power units. The Limited Edition power unit offers intelligent, low noise operation combined with a genuine Lamb Powered class leading suction motor with bagless Triumph© HEPA filtered collection system. Quantity is limited to inventory on hand, also available in Package Deals.
